Lake Superior beach wedding – complete with sled dogs!

Sled dogs and Lake Superior – sounds like my perfect wedding!  It’s currently -5 degrees out with a -20 windchill, which are the conditions I am normally blogging about when it comes to sled dogs, but this past September it was much warmer.

You may have followed the adventures I’ve had with Firestar Kennel – I photographed the kennel last year for their training, and my boyfriend Al races for them. Part of the adventures I had with them was shooting Krystal & Josh’s two day wedding – and it was a ridiculous amount of fun.

The first day was an intimate sunset ceremony on Lake Superior at the beach in Cornucopia, followed by a beer toast by the lake.  Firestar and Pele were their doggy bridal party attendants.  They were a little weirded out at having to sit still for so long ;).

The second day their sled dog team and bridal party escorted them by ATV to their reception at Freehands Farm  .  Krystal & Josh came in on their absolutely gorgeous Nash – and then we ate crazy good food and played with sparklers (you can see that fun part here:  sparklers at night).

My job does not suck – especially when there are fun people and doggies in the wedding party!

{Also – guess who’s catching up with wedding blogging? This girl – and I’ve decided I’m working backwards…  ha. }

    Now I’m glad I don’t have a Pinterest account. It would be full! So many wonderful shots. I love how much you love what you do. Best to Krystal and Josh. “May you live as long as you want to and never want as long as you live.”
    Favorites? The look on Krystal’s face just before the ring; bride and groom X 3 by the lake; groom-bride-bride-bride in the grass; and, of course, the boutonniere.
