Bayfield’s city dock is where I spend a great deal of time taking photos. There I can get photos of the town itself, the ice road, and some of the boats anchored in the ice. Every season gives me something new to photograph, which is pretty awesome for such a small town! Today’s warm up gave us some great fog this morning, and though I was a little late getting there (a girl has to get her coffee!), I still was able to capture some of the gorgeousness. The ice road looks like a desert, and I love the look of our town with the ferries iced up.
The next few months are going to offer some great opportunities to get unusual shots of the fog because of how extremely cold it has been. This is the map of Lake Superior ice coverage as of today, and as there is a ton of ice and snow to melt this spring, we’ll have lots of time to document the fog. (I’m trying to put a positive spin on the long winter, ahem…).
I love winter, but even I am ready for spring. I’m heading to Forth Worth for some pet sessions and a shelter workshop this week – and I can’t wait!
If you love the photos here, I do have Bayfield and Lake Superior prints available for purchase, and I’d love if you’s share and pin this. Thanks to everyone who has shared my work – I appreciate it immensely.
