Fall is my absolute favorite time for family portraits. The light is absolutely beautiful around 4pm, generic and is an amazing warm, golden color. I shot this family portrait session yesterday in the woods south of Bayfield. I aimed my Canon 24-70mm directly into the setting sun, and then exposed for the three of them on the side. It created a gorgeous sun flare, and really shows the warmth of the light at this time of the afternoon in October. I did a little sharpening in Lightroom 3
, added my watermark, and here it is – my new favorite family portrait :).
