I had my first conversation with Elissa last year when she saw me on the blog A Practical Wedding. I LOVE that blog and she and I had a fabulous time discussing all the insane things that happen when you get hitched, and how to try and avoid them :). A few months later I met her & Mike for engagement photos and immediately loved hanging out with them! To say I was excited about their wedding is an understatement.
The original plan for the wedding was for it to be outside, however, the weather did NOT cooperate, so it was moved inside to Rockford College. The photo of Elissa looking at her mom as she walks by her is probably one of my top 5 all time favorite images. I love the look Elissa’s mom is giving her.
After the ceremony was done we moved on to group photos in the gardens around the College. I was all excited that it was so nice and warm – until I heard one of the bridesmaids say how cold she was! After discussing it for a minute, we decided that I had somehow been warped by living so far north, and that 60 degrees was not really a heat wave :). Ha!
The photos with Mike & Elissa were a hoot – especially when she licked his face… I’m thinking that’s my favorite of the day – and a large part of why I like these two so much…
At the reception they had the most amazing cupcakes – my 2nd shooter (Danielle from First Moments) and I devoured them…. I’m a sucker for sweet cupcake goodness. At the end of the night the dancing was fabulous, and I even got down to a little Michael Jackson, but I figured I was scaring people but I stopped – my husband says I have absolutely no rhythm. I tend to agree ;).
Congrats to Elissa & Mike – you two are seriously, seriously awesome!!
