The Waterfowl Diaries – Part 1

My #1 favorite subject is a bird dog. Any bird dog. They are my greatest love photographically because they are just so damn happy in the field. The looks on their faces when the gun goes off – or when they are just observing around them is incredible to photograph.  This fall I am photographing Bear and Chris out in the field for a series of waterfowl images.  We went out the other night – and early the next morning – to see what was around.  In the afternoon the sun was extremely hazy and a reddish orange – probably from the smokey haze in the air from wildfires.  We set up decoys, set up the blinds, and settled in.  I’m extremely excited for the images that will happen in the next few months.
