Story of the Photo – Newfies in a pond.

Welcome to my new weekly series – Story of the Photo.  I have 100,000’s of photos in my collection, and I am going through some of my favorites in the next few months, once a week.

The Newfies of the Pond!

Their human, Marilyn, put me in a kayak so I could get shots in their happy place – the pond.  Of all of the shots from that session, this is my favorite.  The looks on their faces seem to be saying “Treat, or the boat goes”.

I am very proud that I managed to get these from a kayak while handling my camera ;).

Settings:  ISO 400, 24mm on the 24-70mm, f/4.5, 1/1600th of a second.  It was very bright out, so I could have used a higher aperture number, but I wanted to focus only on the canines in front of me, and their relationship to the boat.

You took a bit of a chance with the aperture and it turned out great.
