How to take “shake it off” types of photos.
It’s spring! That means dogs in the water – and some great opportunities to get those super fun shake it off photos. I recorded this tutorial on how to take better photos of dogs shaking water off:
3 biggest steps:
1) Go for the highest shutter speed possible to stop action and be exposed correctly. Use aperture priority mode to make that happen.
2) Don’t be afraid of high ISO numbers! If you have to increase it to get stop action, increase it.
3) Use exposure compensation as needed when you have a darker animal.
As I talk about in my Better Pet Photography Class – practice, practice, practice! You will only get better if you make mistakes.
