On these trips all over the place to photograph canines and their humans – I finally get to meet some of my longtime Facebook friends in person.
Jacqui and I met online when I became obsessed over her shots of Seattle from her boyfriend’s float plane. They are such gorgeous images of a place full of vibrant color and activity. You can really get lost in them while looking at all over the detail of the city from the air.
When I lived in Seattle earlier in my life, I would jealously look at the planes landing on Lake Union as I eked through rush hour traffic on my way to work. I desperately wanted to go for a ride in one, but never got the chance to.
Flash forward almost 15 years later. Jacqui heard I was going to be in Seattle for sessions and arranged for her boyfriend Joey to take me up in a Dehavilland Beaver. I was completely naive to how cool of a plane this was until my father called me and was geeking out over the fact that I got to go for a ride in one.
I could not believe our luck that we could see Mt Rainier, and that we had such lovely weather in April. Seeing Seattle from the air was incredible.
Thank you Jacqui and Joey for making this awesome adventure possible!
