Bayfield on ice!

Took my first visit out to the ice since Jim died. I ran the ice road last year, but I hadn’t felt like seeing any ice fishing until now. I wasn’t prepared for how absolutely beautiful it was, and I didn’t even think to bring my camera (these were all shot from my Droid).

Once I started walking out towards the shacks and over the squeaky, crunchy snow that only negative temps can create, I realized how incredibly happy this lake makes me. No matter what the temp or the conditions, Lake Superior is a special, special place, and I am incredibly happy to call it home.

Enjoy winter and the new year everyone!

Such beauty. I always loved ice fishing. So glad that you are still able to appreciate it. I’m sure Jim is smiling.

That looks absolutely wonderful! You’re a courageous, strong lady and I’m full of admiration for you. I’m not a cold weather person, but your photos make me want to be out on the ice.
