Stonehouse is actually my middle name! I was named after this house in Grand De Tour, IL. The story is this – the Stonehouse was built in the 1840’s as a place for young couples to stay while their homes were being built in Grand De Tour. John Deere had just built his first factory there (there is a John Deere Museum in Grand De Tour) and the couples were moving to area from the east coast to work at the factory. Well, the women couldn’t get prego on the journey to the midwest, so when they moved into the Stonehouse, they miraculously became preggars. It became known as the house were babies came from. My parents were living in this house while their home was being built in the late 70’s, and I was born 1978. They decided it would be fun to name me after the house, ahem ;).
